Greece: Agios Charalambos Mental Health Clinic achieved “Excellence in Medical Tourism”
Temos International is delighted to announce that Agios Charalambos Mental Health Clinic, located in Crete, Greece, has successfully achieved Temos Accreditation for its “Excellence in Medical Tourism” following a successful assessment conducted from February 24–26, 2025.
Founded in 1967 by Dr. Ioannis Tsapakis, a pioneer in mental health on the island of Crete, Agios Charalambos Mental Health Clinic has remained committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered neuropsychiatric care. The clinic has grown significantly over the past five decades while preserving its original ethos: providing the best mental health care within a holistic recovery environment.
This milestone is significant, as Agios Charalambos becomes the first psychiatric and mental health unit to be Temos accredited.
During the assessment, the Temos team, comprising assessors from Greece and Jordan, confirmed the clinic’s compliance with our internationally recognized standards. The clinic’s approach, led by a multidisciplinary scientific team, focuses on individualized patient care that respects human rights during both acute illness and reintegration phases. Their comprehensive services delivered in a safe, comfortable setting emphasize medical, psychological, and social support aimed at empowering patients to lead a fulfilling life alongside mental health recovery.
