Temos Conference: Dr. Arturo S. De la Pena - Leadership and governance towards the healthcare-related sustainable development goals

The release of the United Nation (UN)’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015 and in a survey done globally with private sector looking on where their value chain has the greatest impact on what SDGs revealed that businesses care about the Global Goals and regard health as one of the top priorities.

Using the SDG Compass introduced by the GRI, UN Global Impact, and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development as the roadmap, these have driven St. Luke’s Medical Center towards integrating sustainability into strategic planning and business operations.

St. Luke’s Medical Center Leadership and Governance, the heart of the Blueprint for Corporate Sustainability, will undeniably be the foundation of how we will manage the opportunities and risks brought about by the emerging global needs and aspirations and create stakeholder value in view of the economic, environmental, and social pillars of sustainable development.
