Diplomatic Council „DC Information Society Award 2017“ and WSIS Prizes 2017
Under the auspices of the United Nations, ITU (International Telecommunication Union), UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP have invited the Diplomatic Council to submit project descriptions to the WSIS Prizes Contest 2017. WSIS Prizes is an international contest developed to recognize ICT projects that support the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDDs). WSIS Prizes 2017 are awarded at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2017, scheduled from 12-16 June 2017 at ITU in Geneva.
The prize is awarded in two steps in 18 prize categories and an independent Jury of the Diplomatic Council will review all projects submitted and makes a selection of the best projects in each category, which are recognised with the “DC Information Society Award 2017“ as a first step. The winners of the DC Information Society Awards shall be nominated for the WSIS Prizes Contest 2017 by the Diplomatic Council.
