The identification of the demands and problems of international patient treatment - in emergency cases as well as in medical tourism – resulted in a new approach of quality assessment for hospitals.
Together with leading travel health insurances, assistances, experts in quality management, medical doctors and colleagues from Aachen University Hospital and the German Aerospace Center the Temos Seal of Quality has been developed.
Temos fulfills the demands of quality experts worldwide. The new way of Temos assessing high quality treatment in hospitals on an international basis has the following important features:
- Quality management is only one part of the assessment of high quality treatment of international patients
- Existing and established quality management systems – either an own QM system or ISO 9001, JCI, etc. are a precondition to be incorporated into the Temos quality system and optimized together with the individual hospital according to the demands of international patients
- Assessment is done by inspection on-site on the basis of professional judgment and clearly defined and standardized criteria
- Incorporation of national norms, laws, different cultures, mentalities and quality approaches in different countries is a must for the overall assessment
